Ecclesiastes Chapter 8
伝道者の書 第８章
“Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the
interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the
boldness of his face shall be changed.” (Verse 1) だれが知恵のある者にふさわしいだろう。だれが事物の意義を知りえよう。人の知恵は、その人の顔を輝かし、その顔の固さを変える。（1節）
Lord Jehovah God in Heaven, please save me
from the vanity of failing to be a wise person. 天におられる主なるエホバの神様、知恵のある人になれないという空しさから、どうか私をお救いください。
Please perfect Thy Divine Wisdom in me. 私の中であなたの聖なる知恵を完璧にしてください。
Please make me truly wise in Thy Sight. あなたの目から見て私を本当に知恵のある者としてください。
Please give me a desire to read all
Thy Holy Bible and give me the wisdom to properly and correctly interpret the
meaning of Thy Holy Scriptures.聖書のすべてを読みたいという欲望と、聖書の意味を適切かつ正しく解釈する知恵をどうか私に与えてください。
Please stir up my heart to seek Thy Wisdom.
あなたの知恵を求めるように、どうか私の心をかき立ててください。
Cause my face to shine with Thy Radiant
Wisdom. あなたの輝く知恵で私の顔を輝かせてください。
Please change the boldness of my face to
make my countenance pleasing unto Thee and to make it greatly glorify Almighty
God in Heaven. 私の顔の固さをあなたに喜びを与える表情に変え、天におられる全能の神様を大いに賛美させてください。
I now open my heart, life, and my entire
being fully to God on High, for the purposing of Thee working these
things into my life and being. 私の人生と存在の中にあなたがこれらのことを働かせるために、私は今私の心、人生、そして私の存在全体をいと高き神様に完全に開きます。
I pray these things for all other
people also. 私はこれらのことを他のすべての人々のためにも祈ります。
“I counsel thee to keep the king’s
commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God.” (Verse 2) 私は言う。王の命令を守れ。神の誓約があるから。(2節)
Almighty God, please convince me that The
Lord Jesus Christ is The King of kings and The Lord of lords, and that He rules
over all of mankind. 全能の神様、主イエスキリストが王の王、主の主であり、すべての人類を支配するということを、どうか私に確信させてください。
Please cause me to serve The Lord Jesus
Christ with fear and trembling. どうか恐れとおののきをもって、私を主イエスキリストに仕えさせてください。
Help me to fully keep all of
Christ’s Commandments.すべてのキリストの戒めを完全に守るように私を助けてください。
Please teach me the meaning of the oath of
God. 私に神の誓約の意味を教えてください。
Help me to regard the oath of God, as I
should. 神の誓約を考えるように私を助けてください。
I pray these things for all other
people also. 私はこれらのことを他のすべての人々のためにも祈ります。
“Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand
not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him.” (Verse 3)
王の前からあわてて退出するな。悪事に荷担するな。王は自分の望むままを何でもするから。（3節）
Lord Jesus, please save me from the vain
desire to try to shun Thee, avoid Thee, hide from Thee, and run away from Thee.
主イエス様、あなたを避け、あなたを回避し、あなたから隠れ、あなたから逃げようとする空しい欲望から私をお救いください。
Please draw me unto Thee, and give me an earnest
desire to come to Thee for forgiveness of sin, cleansing and salvation from
sin, and for eternal life. 私をあなたに引き寄せ、罪の許し、罪からの清めと救い、そして永遠の命への熱心な望みを私に与えてください。
Please save me from the fatal vanity
of running from God. 神様から逃げるという致命的な空しさからどうか私をお救いください。
Save me from standing in an evil thing. 悪事に荷担することから私をお救いください。
Convince me that Thou art Almighty God Who
does whatsoever Thou desirest to do, and that it is impossible for me to escape
from Thee. あなたはあなたが望むままを何でもする全能の神様であり、私はあなたから逃れる事はできないという事を私に確信させてください。
Please change and correct my sinful heart
to cause me to do what is pleasing to Thee during all my life under the
sun. 日の下でのすべての私の人生の間、あなたを喜ばせる事ができるように、私の罪深い心を変え、正してください。
I pray these things for all other
people also. 私はこれらのことを他のすべての人々のためにも祈ります。
“Where the word of a king is, there is power:
and who may say unto him, What doest thou?” (Verse 4) 王のことばには権威がある。だれが彼に、「あなたは何をするのですか。」と言えようか。（4節）
Almighty God in Heaven, please convince me
that all the words in Thy Holy Bible are the words of the King of kings
and Lord of lords, Who is Almighty God Himself. 天におられる全能の神様、聖書の中のすべてのことばは王の王、主の主、全能の神ご自身のことばである事を私に確信させてください。
By Thy Holy Spirit, please reveal unto me
the Ultimate Power that is contained in the words of Thy Holy Bible. あなたの聖霊によって、聖書のことばに含まれている最高権威をどうか私に明らかにしてください。
Please give me strong, unwavering
faith to fully believe all Thy Words, Lord God. 主なる神様、すべてのあなたのことばを完全に信じる、強く、揺るぎない信仰を私にお与えください。
Please help me to put all Thy Words
to work in my life by fully believing them and fully obeying them, and
thus have the Great Power of the Words of the King of kings and Lord of lords
manifested in my life. すべてのあなたのことばを完全に信じ、そして完全に従う事によって、私の人生に働かせることができるように私を助けてください。それゆえ王の王、主の主のことばの偉大な力が私の人生に現されますように。
Please convince me of the complete
futility of attempting to talk back to a king, trying to refute and to oppose
his words.王に口答えしようとすること、反論し、反対しようとすることの完全な無益さを私に確信させてください。
Have mercy
on me and save me from the vanity of ever committing such a horrible sin
against Almighty God Who is King over all. 私を憐れんで、すべての王である全能の神様に対し、いつもそのような恐ろしい罪を犯すことの空しさから私をお救いください。
Convince me
of Thy Absolute Power over me as King of kings and Lord of lords. 王の王、主の主としての、私に対するあなたの絶対的な力をを私に確信させてください。
Please
bring me into absolute submission to Thee, my Creator God, Ruler of the
universe, and the King of kings. 私の創造主である神、天地万物の支配者、王の王であるあなたに、どうか私を完全に服従させてください。
Help me to
ever be most alert to Thy Voice speaking to me, and to always earnestly reply,
“Yes, Lord” to Thee from my very heart. 私に話しているあなたの声に常に油断なく気を配り、私の真の心から「はい、主よ」といつも熱心にあなたに答えられるように私を助けてください。
I pray
these most important things for all other people on this earth. 私はこの地上の他のすべての人々のためにこれらの最も重要なことを祈ります。
Please have
great mercy on all those who speak against Thy Words and Thy Marvelous
Doings, and bring them all to repentance unto Thee. あなたのことばと素晴らしい行いに対して反対意見を述べるすべての者に大きな哀れみをもち、すべての者をあなたに悔い改めさせてください。
“Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no
evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment.” (Verse 5)
命令を守る者はわざわいを知らない。知恵ある者はの心は時とさばきを知っている。（5節）
Father God in Heaven, please work powerfully
in this sinful heart of mine and create within me a heart desirous to keep all
Thy commandments. 天におられる父なる神様、この罪深い私の心に力強く働きかけ、あなたのすべての命令を守りたいと望む心を私の中にお造りください。
Help me to yield myself fully to
Thee, for the purpose of Thee guarding my heart to prevent me from sinning
against Thee. あなたに対して罪を犯すことから私を防いで、私の心を守るために、あなたに私自身を完全にゆだねるよう私を助けてください。
Thank Thee for this wonderful promise of
feeling no evil thing when one keeps Thy commandment. 人が命令を守るときわざわいを知らないというこの素晴らしい約束について、あなたに感謝いたします。
Please help me to be such a person. 私がそのような人になれるように、どうか助けてください。
Please save me from the vanity of
breaking Thy commandments. あなたの命令を犯すことの空しさから私をお救いください。
Please fill me with Almighty God’s Pure
Wisdom, thus giving me a wise man’s heart. 全能の神様の純粋な知恵で私を満たし、そうして私に知恵ある者の心を与えてください。
Help me to clearly discern both time and
judgment. 時とさばきをはっきりと理解できるように助けてください。
I pray these things for all other
people also. 私はこれらのことを他のすべての人々のためにも祈ります。
“Because to every purpose there is time and
judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.” (Verse 6)
すべての営みには時とさばきがある。人に降りかかるわざわいが多いからだ。（6節）
Almighty God in Heaven, please save
me from and deliver me from all misery. 天におられる全能の神様、すべてのわざわいから私を救い、解放してください。
Please be my Divine Comforter when I need
comfort. 私が慰めを必要とするとき、どうかわたしの神聖な助け主となってください。
Cause me to truly believe that mankind’s
help is in the Name of our Lord, our Creator God, and help me to always seek
Thy Help in every time of need. 人類の助けは、私たちの創造主、主の御名によることを心から信じさせてください。そして必要とする度に常にあなたの助けを求めるように私を助けてください。
Save me from the vanity of wallowing
in misery when I can come to Thee for Help and Comfort. 私が助けと慰めを求めてあなたに行くことができる時に、わざわいにふける空しさから私をお救いください。
Please lead me into a life that is
victorious over misery. わざわいに勝った人生に私をお導きください。
Please give me great compassion for all
peoples under the sun who are in misery, and guide me to do whatever I can to
alleviate their misery and to be a comfort to them. わざわいの中にいる日の下のすべての人々のために、強く深い同情を私に与えてください。そして私ができる限り、彼らのわざわいを軽減し、彼らの慰めになれるように私をお導きください。
Make me totally unselfish and guide
me to live for God and other people. 私を完全に利他的な者にし、神様と他の人々のために生きるようにお導きください。
Please teach me the importance of the Truth
that there is time and judgment to every purpose, and cause me to
guard myself concerning the things I purpose in my heart. すべての営みには時とさばきがあるという重要な真実を私に教えてください。そして、私が心の中に営むことがらに関して、自分を守るために私を助けてください。
Make all my purposes and motives
pure in the Sight of Thy Pure Eyes.あなたの純粋な目の前に、すべての私の営みと動機を純粋にしてください。
I pray these things for all other

“For he knoweth not that which shall be: for
who can tell him when it shall be?” (Verse 7) 何が起こるかを知っている者はいない。いつ起こるかをだれも告げることはできない。（7節）
Lord Jesus, please help me to commit my
life fully into Thy Omnipotent Hands for Thee to keep me safely
forever. 主イエス様、あなたが私を永遠に無事に守り続けるために、私の人生をあなたの全能の手に完全にゆだねるよう、どうか私を助けてください。
Tho I know not the future, I know I will be
totally safe by fully trusting my life into Thy Loving Care. 私は将来のことを知らないけれども、あなたの愛情に私の人生を完全に信頼することによって、私は完全に安心できることを私は知っています。
Please save me from the fatal vanity
of not doing that. そうしないことの致命的な空しさから私をお救いください。
Prevent me from holding back any part of my
life from Thee, but rather enable me to truly fully surrender my all to Thee.
あなたから私の人生のあらゆる部分を隠すことから私を防いでください。むしろ、あなたにわたしのすべてを心から完全にゆだねることができるようにしてください。
Make me fully aware of just what a frail
creature I am, and therefore am unable to rule my own life apart from Thee. わたしがなんと薄弱な生き物であるか、そしてそれゆえに私にはあなたから離れて自分の人生を支配することは不可能だという事を完全に気づかせてください。
Impress strongly upon my mind, my need of
my Creator God’s Help, Salvation, and Eternal Life. 私に必要な私の創造主である神様の助け、救い、そして永遠の命を、私の心に強く印象付けてください。
Please cause me to seek Thee with all
my heart. すべての私の心を込めて、私にあなたを追い求めさせてください。
I pray these things for all other
people also. 私はこれらのことを他のすべての人々のためにも祈ります。
“There is no man that hath power over the
spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and
there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that
are given to it.” (Verse 8) 霊を維持するために霊を支配する力を持つ者はいない。死の日も支配することはできない。この戦いから放免される者はいない。悪は悪の所有者を救いえない。（8節）
Lord God on High, please convince me of how
utterly powerless I am within my own self. いと高き主なる神様、私は自分自身の中で、どんなに全く無力であるかを、私に確信させてください。
Help me to honestly face the reality that
death is coming to me, and that it could come now, or at any time. 死が私に近づいていて、それは今すぐにでも、いつにでもやって来るという現実を正直に認められるように、私を助けてください。
Help me to admit to myself that there is no
way I can postpone the day of my death nor keep death at a stay in any way at
all. 私の死の日を延ばす方法はなく、また死んだままでいる方法も全くないことを、私自身認められるように私を助けてください。
Save me from the vanity of trusting
in wickedness to deliver me. 悪が私を救えると信じることの空しさから私をお救いください。
Please help me to be prepared for my
physical death by now fully trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ. 今完全に主イエスキリストに信頼することによって、私の肉体的な死に備えられるように私を助けてください。
Lord Jesus, please become my Eternal Life. 主イエス様、どうか私の永遠の命となってください。
I pray that all other people will
also trust in Thee for eternal life. 私は他のすべての人々も永遠の命のためにあなたに信頼するよう祈ります。
Let the wickedness of the wicked come to an
end. 悪者の悪を終わらせてください。
“All this have I seen, and applied my heart
unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man
ruleth over another to his own hurt.” (Verse 9) 私はこのすべてを見て、日の下で行われるいっさいのわざに心を向けた。人が人を支配することは彼自身に損害を与える。（9節）
Almighty Jehovah God, please have mercy on
me and save me from the vanity of exceeding the authority Thou hast
ordained that I have. 全能のエホバの神様、どうか私を憐れみ、あなたが定めた私が持つ権威を超えることの空しさから私をお救いください。
Save me from the vanity of
exercising authority and rule over other human creatures that Thou hast not
ordained for me to exercise over other people. あなたが私に行使することを定めていない他の人々に、権威を行使して、他の人間の生き物を支配する空しさから私をお救いください。
Please have great mercy upon me and save me
from the terribly selfish sinful vanity of desiring to rule and reign
over other people. どうか私を大いに憐れみ、他の人々を支配し、統治したいという欲望のひどく自分勝手な罪深い空しさから私をお救いください。
Please create within me the heart of a
servant, because that is Christ-like. 仕える心を私の中にお造りください。なぜならそれはキリストのようだからです。
Please make me ever so spiritually alert to
diligently observe every work that is done under the sun in order to gain
Divine Wisdom from Thee, my Creator God, for the purpose of restraining myself
from exercising undue authority and undue rule over other people to my own
hurt.自分自身に損害になる、他の人々に過度の権限を行使して、過度に支配することから、自分自身を抑制する目的で、私の創造主である神様、あなたからの神の知恵を得るために、日の下で行われるいっさいのわざを、熱心に観察するように、常に霊的に油断なく気を配らせてください。
I pray these things for all other

Save us all from the vanity
of attempting to rise up out of our ordained estate and striving to be great
like God.私たちに定められた身分からはずれて高くなろうとすること、また神様のように偉大になろうと懸命に努力することの空しさから私たちすべてをお救いください。
“And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come
and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where
they had so done: this is also vanity.” (Verse 10) そこで私は見た。悪者どもが葬られて、行くのを。しかし正しい行ないの者が、聖なる方の所を去り、そうして、町で忘れられるのを。これもまた、むなしい。（10節）
Lord God in Heaven, please save me
from the vanity of being wicked. 天におられる主なる神様、悪者になることの空しさから私をお救いください。
Cause me to think on how soon death
overtakes each wicked person on earth, and then Thou doest cast them into an
eternal Hell to forever weep, wail, and gnash their teeth in the lake of fire
that burns without end. この世にいる悪者それぞれに、いかに近いうちに死が急に迫るのか、そしてあなたが彼らを終わることなく燃える火の池の中で永遠に嘆き、泣き叫び、歯をきしらせる永久の地獄へ投げ込むということを私に考えさせてください。
Please create within me an intensely
passionate desire to repent of my sins and wickedness to Almighty God, and
to wholly trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. 全能の神様に私の罪と悪を悔い改めるように、また私の個人的な救い主として主イエスキリストに完全に信頼するよう、激しく情熱的な願望を私の中にお造りください。
Please lead me into Thy Holy Place
and cause me to abide there with Thee forever. あなたの聖地へと私をお導きください。そして私にそこに永遠にあなたと共にいさせてください。
Please save me from the fatal vanity
of dying lost and undone without the Lord Jesus Christ and therefore perishing
in an eternal Hell of fire and brimstone. 主イエスキリストなしで滅び、不完全に死ぬこと、その結果、火と硫黄の永遠の地獄で滅びることの致命的な空しさから私をお救いください。
I pray these things for all
other people also. 私はこれらのことを他のすべての人々のためにも祈ります。
“Because sentence against an evil work is not
executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them
to do evil.” (Verse
11) 悪い行いに対する宣告がすぐ下されないので、人の子らの心は悪を行う思いで満ちている。（11節）
Almighty Lord God, please save me from the vanity
of tempting the Lord my God. 全能なる神様、主なる私の神様を誘惑する空しさからどうか私をお救いください。
Save me from the vanity of tempting
Thee by procrastinating in regard to seeking the Lord while Thou mayst be found
and calling on Thee while Thou art near and while it is the day of salvation in
which I have the opportunity to be saved. あなたを見つけられる間に主を求めることと、あなたが近くにいる間、私が救われる機会のある救いの日の間にあなたを呼び求めることをを引き延ばして、あなたを誘惑する空しさから私をお救いください。
Save me from the destructive vanity
of setting my heart to do evil. 私の心を悪を行おうとする破壊的な空しさから私をお救いください。
Cause me to hate the evil and to love the
good. 私に、悪を憎み、善を愛するようにさせてください。
Cause me to flee from evil. 私を悪から逃げさせてください。
Create within me a heart that is earnestly
desirous to fully obey Thee, my Creator God. 私の創造主である神、あなたに完全に従うことを真剣に望む心を私の中にお造りください。
Remind me that Thou art a most gracious and
merciful God, and thus Thou doest patiently call on evil and wicked men
and women all throughout their life time, to cease from their sin,
repent, and to turn to Thee. あなたはもっとも情け深く、憐れみ深い神です。ゆえに、あなたは忍耐強く、悪い邪悪な男女に、すべての彼らの人生の時間を通して、罪を犯す事をやめ、悔い改め、主に立ち返るよう求めていることを私に気づかせてください。
Cause me to constantly bear in mind that
judgment and payday come of a certainty to us all, and that it
behooves each of us human creatures to daily pass our sojourn here on earth,
serving Thee with fear and trembling. さばきと復讐の日は私たちすべてに確実に来るゆえに、私たち人間の生き物それぞれが、日々この世の上でとどまり、恐れおののきあなたに仕える必要があることを常に私の心に留めさせてください。
Convince me that my life under the sun
could end right now, and thus now may be my last chance to call
upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save me. 日の下での私の人生は今すぐにでも終わる可能性があり、今が私を救うために主イエスキリストを呼び求める私の最後のチャンスかもしれないことを私に確信させてください。
Please help all us people under the
sun to get our hearts right with Almighty Jehovah God now, I pray. 全能のエホバの神に今、私たちの心を正すために 日の下の私たちすべての人々を助けてくだるよう、私は祈ります。
“Though a sinner do evil an hundred times,
and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them
that fear God, which fear before him:” (Verse 12) 罪人が、百度悪事を犯しても、長生きしている。しかし私は、神を恐れる者も、神を敬って、しあわせであることを知っている。（12節）
Lord God our Heavenly Father, please do
whatever it takes to convince me of the eternal truth of this verse of
Scripture. 我らの天の父、主なる神様、聖書のこの節の永遠の真実を私に確信させるためなら、どんなことでもしてください。
Convince me that it will never be
well with sinners who repeatedly do evil against Thee. 神様に対して繰り返し悪事を犯す罪人は、決してしあわせになれないことを、私に確信させてください。
Reveal to me just how exceedingly
devastating is the eternal retribution that awaits such evil sinners after this
life. この人生の後に、どれだけ非常に破壊的な永遠の懲罰が、そのような悪の罪人を待ち構えているのか、私に明らかにしてください。
Give me strong faith to believe that it
shall surely be well with the people that fear Almighty God during this life
under the sun. 日の下でこの人生の間に、全能の神様を恐れる人々は確実にしあわせになる、と信じる強い信仰を私に与えてください。
Please help me to fear before Thee daily,
as I pass my short sojourn on this earth under the sun. 日の下のこの世で、私の短い滞在を過ごしながら、日々あなたの前に恐れるように私を助けてください。
Save me from the fatal vanity of not
doing such. そのようにしない致命的な空しさから私をお救いください。
I pray these things for all other
people also. 私はこれらのことを他のすべての人々のためにも祈ります。
“But it shall not be well with the wicked,
neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth
not before God.” (Verse 13) しかし、悪者にはしあわせがない。その生涯を影のように長くすることはできない。彼らは神を敬わないからだ。（13節）
Almighty Jehovah God in Heaven, I now stand
in the gap and intercede in prayer for all the wicked people now living
on this earth. 天におられる全能のエホバの神様、私は今間隙に立ち、この世に今住むすべての邪悪な人々のために祈りのとりなしをします。
Please have great mercy upon them all. どうか彼らすべてを大きく憐れんでください。
Please turn them from all their vanity of
wickedness and turn them to their Creator God. 彼らをすべての彼らの邪悪な空しさからそらし、彼らの創造主である神様に向けてください。
Let the wickedness of the wicked come to an
end. 悪者の悪を終わらせてください。
Send Thy Holy Spirit upon each of them mightily
to smite them with the fear of the Lord. 主を恐れることでそれらを強打するために、あなたの聖霊を彼らそれぞれに激しくお送りください。
Reveal to each rebellious sinner, just what
a fearful thing it is to fall into the Hands of a Living God. 生ける神の手の中に落ちることがどんなに恐ろしい事かを、それぞれの反抗的な罪人に明らかにしてください。
Please grant all wicked people a repentant
heart and faith to trust in the Saviour of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ.すべての邪悪な人々に、世の救い主、主イエスキリストを信頼するために、悔い改めの心と信仰を与えてください。
Please fight from Heaven against all the
evil and sinful forces that keep lost souls from coming to The Lord Jesus
Christ to be saved. 救われるための滅びた魂を主イエスキリストへ来ないようにする、すべての悪と罪深い力に対して天国から戦ってください。
Please save each lost sinner from the vanity
of perishing in an eternal Hell. 永遠の地獄で滅びる空しさから、それぞれの失われた罪人をお救いください。
Please have great mercy upon us all,
Lord Jesus, I most earnestly and humbly pray. 主イエス様、どうか私たちすべてを大きく憐れんでくださるよう、私はもっとも熱心に謙虚に祈ります。
“There is a vanity which is done upon
the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work
of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to
the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity.” (Verse
14) しかし、むなしいことが地上で行われている。悪者の行ないに対する報いを正しい人がその身に受け、正しい人の行ないに対する報いを悪者がその身に受けることがある。これもまた、むなしい、と私は言いたい。（14節）
Lord God on High, please make me into a perfectly
just person. いと高き主なる神様、私を完璧な正しい人にしてください。
Please save me from being wicked, and teach
and guide me to be just in all my ways and dealings with other people. 悪者になることから私を救い、すべてにおいて正しくなり、他の人々に振舞えるよう、私を教え導いてください。
Please make me just in Thy Divine Sight. 神様の目に、私を正しい人としてください。
Help me to never forget that calamities and
adversities fall upon just people. 不幸や逆境が正しい人に降りかかるということを、決して忘れぬように私を助けてください。
Save me from being shaken by such when they
come my way. それらが私に訪れるとき、そのような事で動揺しないように、私をお救いください。
Help me to never forget the example of Job,
how that Thou didst allow severe calamities to come his way, tho he was just

Please help me to make The Lord Jesus
Christ my Help, my Refuge, my Shield, my Buckler, my Protector, my Fortress, my
Comforter, my All, in order for me to safely endure any and all

Save me from the vanity of letting
the visual sights I behold in this life under the sun become my rule and guide

Please help me to totally yield my life to
Thee, My Creator God, for the purpose of living in obedience to Thy Holy
Bible and Thy Holy Spirit’s Guidance. 聖書と御霊の導きに従順に生きる目的のために、私の創造主である神様、あなたに私の人生を完全に任せることができるように助けてください。
Save me from the fleshly vanity of
living only to eat, drink, and to be merry. 食べて、飲んで、楽しむためだけに生きる、肉体的な空しさから私をお救いください。
Cause me to think upon Thy Divine
Displeasure at the sight of much intemperate earthly and worldly joy, gladness,
eating, and drinking (Isaiah 22:13), at a time Thou wast calling Thy people to
weeping, mourning, baldness, and girding with sackcloth (verse 12). あなたが、泣き、悲しみ、頭を丸め、荒布をまとえとあなたの人々に呼びかけた時、（12節）多くの抑制を欠いた、地上とこの世の楽しみ、喜び、食べ、飲み（イザヤ書22章13節）の光景を見た時の神様の苦痛を考えさせてください。

to crucify their flesh with Christ on the cross, thereby ceasing to walk in the

“When I applied mine heart to know wisdom,

Almighty Lord God, please cause me to apply
my heart to know Thy True Wisdom which cometh from above, and to use that
Wisdom as I regularly observe all the business that is done upon the
earth under the sun. 全能の主なる神様、私が天から来るあなたの真の知恵を一心に知り、地上で行われる人のすべての仕事をいつも見るとき、その知恵を一心に使わせてください。
Save me
from the vanity of being deceived by the appearances of things,
but rather give me keen spiritual discernment to perceive the exact
nature and condition of each matter of business done upon the earth and please
give me the spiritual knowledge as to exactly how each of those matters is
regarded in Thy Divine Sight. 物事の外見にだまされる空しさから私を救い、むしろ、地上で行われる人の仕事の、それぞれの状況の正確な特性と状態を理解する鋭敏で霊的な認識力を私に与えてください。そしてそれらそれぞれの状況が、神様の目に正確にどのようにみなされているのかに関して、霊的な知識を私に与えてください。
I pray that Thou wouldest give all
other people such spiritual perception also. 私は、あなたが他のすべての人々に、そのような霊的な認識力を与えてくださるよう祈ります。
Lord God, exactly what is that which
neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes? 主なる神よ、昼も夜も眠らずに見るものとは正確には何なのですか？
“Then I beheld all the work of God, that a
man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man
labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man
think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.” (Verse
17) すべては神のみわざであることがわかった。人は日の下で行われるみわざをみきわめることはできない。人は労苦して捜し求めても、見いだすことはない。知恵ある者が知っていると思っても、見きわめることはできない。（17節）
Heavenly Father, please cause me to behold all
Thy Works and to learn everything I should learn from Thy Works. 天の父よ、あなたのすべてのみわざを理解させてください。そしてあなたのみわざから私が学ぶべきすべてのものを学ばせてください。
Please help me to be fully satisfied and
content with knowing only the things that Thou hast ordained that I know
during this life under the sun. 日の下のこの人生の間にあなたが私に知るように定めた事だけを知ることに完全に納得し、満足できるよう私を助けてください。
Save me from the vanity of being
nosey and thus struggling to find out various matters related to Almighty God
and Thy vast creation, that Thou hast not ordained that we human creatures
come to a knowledge of during this life under the sun. 日の下のこの人生の間に、あなたが私たち人間の生き物に知ることを定めていない、全能の神様と非常に広い創造に関して、おせっかいで様々な事柄を調べようと努力する空しさから私をお救いください。
Save me from the vanity of selfish,
sinful curiosity. 利己的な、罪深い好奇心の空しさから私をお救いください。
Please cause me to cease from the vanity
of struggling to be great like God, and make me perfectly content to be
in the lowly estate Thou hast ordained for me during this life under the sun. 神様のように素晴らしくなろうと努力する空しさから私をやめさせてください。そして日の下のこの人生の間に、あなたが私に定めた低い身分に完全に満足させてください。
Please help me to glorify Thee by ceasing
my carnal striving to increase (rise up and be great). 私の肉体が盛んになろうと（高くなり、素晴らしくなる）努力をやめることによって、あなたを賛美するよう私を助けてください。
Help me to seek to decrease, to become more
humble and lowly. 衰えることを求め、もっと謙虚でへりくだるように私を助けてください。
